Creating and Managing Blocks

Overview

A block is a modular unit of content that can be used and positioned on store pages. They can be used to display information, including text, images, and embedded videos. Blocks can then be positioned using widgets.

NOTE: When adding or editing blocks on your site, ensure that you are careful, as any changes will be reflected on your production site. When trying out new blocks, we recommend that you do not delete any existing blocks in case you would like to revert to your original layout.

Creating a Block

  1. On the Kano Store admin panel, navigate to Content > Elements > Blocks.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click Add New Block.
  3. Configure the following settings.

Block Title: Enter a descriptive title for your block. This will only be visible for store administrators.
Identifier: Enter an identifier for your block. Use all lowercase characters with underscores instead of spaces.
Assign to Store Views: Select the stores where the widget will be visible.
  4. Using the Displayed Content Tool Set, add content to your block.
  5. Once you are complete, click Save & Close.

Using widgets, blocks can be easily positioned in different places on your page. The following list describes the locations by page type where blocks are typically placed.
